THE WEDDING PLAYLIST

Photography by Celestine Aerden

We didn't hire a DJ or a band but instead my wonderful friend, Khelai and I downloaded a bunch of songs on Spotify (buy the premium and download the music so you can play even if you don't have wi-fi) for our reception music. I personally choose the other songs played on our wedding and we assigned two of our friends to do the DJ-ing (aka press play and stop, when needed).

CEREMONY SONGS

PROCESSIONAL
An instrumental version of Bill Wither's Lovely Day
(sorry, I couldn't find the artist)

BRIDE - WALKING DOWN THE AISLE
I have always thought of Andrew when I hear this song. I used to cool down from my run listening to this song, remembering Andrew and how just easy going our love is -- quite like the song. See full lyrics HERE

SIGNING OF WEDDING CONTRACTS
I know, Twilight...but I have always loved this song and I like this piano/cello cover of The Piano Guys. See full lyrics HERE.

RECESSIONAL
'Home is whenever I'm with you' - says it all - plus it is quite a good upbeat song for a recessional (very Woodland-y too!). See full lyrics HERE.

RECEPTION SONGS
The song that continued playing during our reception was the one downloaded by my friend and I on Spotify. It consists mainly of acoustic and cover songs plus it also featured some Tagalog songs (like I said, love incorporating my Filipino roots on this day). No club/dance songs as we are not having a dance floor for the after-party.

INTRODUCTION OF MR & MRS
Well, we were going to Jamaica for our honeymoon so why the hell not? Also both of us are Bob Marley fans (who isn't anyway?) See full lyrics HERE.

LAST DANCE WITH MUMS
Someone Like You - Charlie Puth and Emily Luther (Cover)
Both our mums are single so we thought this song is perfectly clever and we hope that they find someone like us (and honestly, it isn't over - they are still our mums, after all)! See full lyrics HERE.

FIRST DANCE
All of Me - sang live by my Bridesmaid, Grace and her husband, Steve
This is actually Andrew's song for me and when it became such a pop culture phenomena, it was a bit sad but the song is still beautiful (and they actually stopped overplaying it so perfect timing!). Also we wanted a song that our great singer friends can sing comfortably yet still beautifully and this was it! See full lyrics HERE.

SPARKLER EXIT
Unwritten - Boyce Avenue ft. Diamond White (Cover)
I know...The Hills...but I do believe that the rest is still unwritten for Andrew and I. See full lyrics HERE

BRIDE'S TIP
If again you do not have time to download songs or look for songs you like and you don't have a friend who could help you do it, definitely hire a DJ or a band. It could be pricey but really depends on your budget and your wedding priorities (like I said in my past post).

THANK YOU
Thank you again to my friend, Khelai for helping me with my playlist and my DJs Matt and Cam. Special thanks to my amazing singer friends, Steve and Grace.
