In 140 words or less, tell us what your blog is about:
The Girl with the Messy Hair was created back in April 2009 to chronicle my outfits and everyday stories in my life. Today, it is continuously improving as I finally had the courage to leave my tropical home for a less messy hair and life in Canada.
Give us a 6-word summary of yourself.
I am more than JUST “The Girl with the Messy Hair”.
What is your favourite article/post/video/image that you’ve posted and why?
Each year it changes. So for 2012, my favourite was probably “ALL THAT GLITTERS” simply because you can’t go wrong with a pretty dress, a professional photographer and a little sparkle.
Fill in the blank: I can’t leave my house without my __________?
Tell us some of your favourite trends that are hot right now?
I love that all the pops of colour (burgundy, forest green, mustard, plum, etc.) and the fact that pastel is actually now part of Fall/Winter fashion.
What are your top 3 favourite things to do in the city you live in?
Calgary is almost winter all-year long so there isn’t much to do. I love having coffee by the fire while reading a good book. A movie then nightcap or dinner then movies with friends is always a must. Driving to Banff never fails too.
What mantra or quotation do you live by?
“Live in a such a way, that if someone spoke badly of you – no one would believe it.”
What do you skimp on?
Believe it or not, I actually skimp on clothes and shoes.
What do you splurge on?
I splurge on handbags, jewelry (mostly watches) and outerwear.
What blogs/websites are you currently obsessed with?
Always been obsessed with Atlantic Pacific. I love tumblr sites such as Te Lo Juro (because I’ve always been a fan of black and white photos) and Summer Tan Lines (because it reminds me of home).
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In 5 years, I would be 33. Hopefully, I have my own house, a decent running car, a stable career, have travelled to places I’ve been wanderlust-ing on and married to the one I love sans the kids.
What would you say to the younger version of yourself?
The boy you’re obsessing with right now is not going to be with you forever and you can actually live without him. Don’t take relationships too seriously but take your life seriously. Educate yourself; travel as much as you can, study abroad and slowly build your interests that could probably lead to your future career when you’re 30.
Do you have any other advice that you would give to new bloggers?
If you want to take blogging seriously, always remember that you are your own brand. If you just do this for fun, be careful because people would still identify you as “that” blogger – separate your online life from your offline life early on.

Thanks for the amazing feature, The Gold Zebra
